The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those who want to get rid of mopping off their list of tasks. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to select if you're looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models, making it more maneuverable in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 mins when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery mid-clean.
It is very fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways with only one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt, pet hair, and even droppings effortlessly. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes into contact with rugs, and the two side brushes help to tease away debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful in tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't make as loud of a sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It's simple to set up and performs well however, this is something you'll need to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.
The device comes with a powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This enables it to map out your home, identify furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach places. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and dry to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another notable feature is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to alter the intensity of its suction and select between a back-and-forth or slightly more random patterns. You can also alter the number of passes it should make, which will affect the speed at which the device can traverse your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It's crucial to note that it incurs recurring expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For example brushrolls need to be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.
This robotic vacuum cleaner has a high Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank and washes and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or just want an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. It has powerful performance, smart navigation, and a long battery life that makes it easy to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's a bit old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers, which can help to keep certain areas of your home from being swept with mop.
We also noticed that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up pet hair. It was able to capture a large amount of hair that our cats shed, and even found its way into the nooks and crannys of our stairs, where other robots struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to signal that it was beginning and getting its work done.
The app was too basic and you had to change the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app cannot keep multiple maps. This can be an issue if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it also has distinctive features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni is most notable for its enormous dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dust bin as well as the 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that allow you to start cleaning or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about children playing with the vacuum.
The Omni Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its application.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, the mopping pad doesn't get washed or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang &
